Monday, Apr. 14, 2003 - 11:45 a.m. I really should have more weekends like the one that is ending in fifteen minutes. The play finished its run yesterday, which leaves me with mixed feelings. I am really glad to finally have free time again, but it's sad knowing that I most likely won't be seeing any of the friends I made in the cast any time soon. I had a huge fanbase turn out to see the show this weekend, though! Shelley and Will, Schoonie, Alyssa, Casey, Lyss's fab parents, about a half dozen students from my department, and former advising coworkers were all in attendance, which was absolutely incredible. All in all between this weekend and last week, I had about thirty people who came to see me in the show. It amazes me to think that I know that many people who were willing to drive to Frankfort to see the play. Yesterday before the play was the obligatory laundry date with Lyss, but with a twist this time. We tried out a great new Indian fast food place in Chevy Chase that I'm sure I'll be frequenting from here on out. Today I kidnapped Lyss again for a matinee at the Kentucky Theatre(finally saw The Hours, a very good film), random guy watching and superfluous spending at Hamburg, followed by the usual Six Feet Under and Queer as Folk Sunday night. I must agree with Epiphany about his take on the current season of SFU. The show really was more fun when the characters were more conflicted. Rather than finishing an episode yearning for more, I'm left with more of an "eh" feeling. That having been said, I think Arthur is absolutely adorable. My prediction is that the season ends with either Ruth Fisher and Arthur bumpin' uglies or Ruth and Kathy Bates's character in a torrid lesbian affair. That's all. But, yeah, it's been a great weekend. I'm looking forward to a week of coming home after work with no plans whatsoever. Ah, freedom...
