It's strange how I feel like I have so much to say these days, yet the words just don't come. Anyone who has spent any amount of time with me knows that I am rarely one to be without something to say. Thus, I've spent the little bit of alone time I've had this week simply relaxing. The computer, TV, and ringer on the phone get turned off, and the stereo is turned on with the soothing music du jour. In contrast with what has quickly turned into a chaotic personal and work life, the chance to spend even a few minutes alone with the radio have been very therapeutic.
In other news, we have four play performances down and two more to go! All of the aggravation and stress that came from months of rehearsing are finally paying off, as the production is getting rave reviews from all directions. I don't think I'll ever forget taking my bow after Friday night's performance to uproarious applause and much hootin' and hollerin'. It turns out that a huge group of coworkers and students from my department caravanned to the play to see me that night. It was the perfect way to end a stressful week on a high note.
Oh, and the cast parties! I am the youngest person in the cast, yet these people absolutely wear me out. I never thought I'd be the one to leave a bunch of 40-50 year olds still partying hard at 2:00 in the morning!
Oh, and Mom and Dad came to yesterday's matinee show. Mom's first reaction? "What color lipstick are you wearing? I need that!"
I think that's a good place to end this today.
