Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003 - 3:37 p.m. I'm doing something tonight that's very unfamiliar to me, yet is kind of exciting at the same time. I'm auditioning for a play. A musical, to be exact. I'm auditioning for the lead male role in a musical. I never thought I'd ever type a sentence such as that. The opportunity sort of fell into my lap on New Year's Eve. The director of the play was a fellow guest at the party I went to and called me a few days later to ask if I would be interested in trying out. He sent me a script, I looked it over, and now I'm set for an audition. I made it very clear that I have very little experience with this sort of thing. My only exposure to theater production thus far has been two plays in high school and a children's show my sophomore year of college. I've never been on a real audition, and have no clue what to expect. But the director seems to think I'm a shoe-in for the part, so I'm willing to give it the old college try. Three hours from now I will be on a stage singing something. Exactly what, I'm still not sure of, as I'm still looking for a song. I'm totally prepared, really. Wow. This time tomorrow, I might be an actor. Cool!
